David Henson brings the intensity and excitement of a contact sport to teaching mathematics. By focusing on active, hands-on learning, he taps into students' natural curiosity, turning lessons into compelling explorations. From activities involving falling teddy bears, to investigations of data in cartoons, to scenarios with Minecraft zombie apocalypses, David designs inquiry-based tasks that maintain rigor through high engagement. With over 30 years serving Texas students and educators, David recently served as an educational consultant at a regional service center. He has presented nationally, regionally, and across the DFW area on creating engaging, accessible math experiences for every student.
